What is the difference between the legacy and default Audio Driver on TVOS? I am getting audio drop outs on all of my ATV's when using the default decoder, but with legacy the audio is fine.
If you’re using HomePods as default output, then there is no difference between drivers, they both suck.
If not using HomePods, no idea.
Nope, no HomePods. 4 of the ATV's are just playing thru the TV speakers and the last one is playing through a SONOS ARC system. But I did change Channels to legacy on two of the ATV's early today and so far not a single audio drop out on those boxes.
I think this has something to do with TVOS 18 because I never had this issue with TVOS 17 and the exact same hardware, but I started hearing this issue the very day I updated to 18.
So if I am not using HomePods, and none of my source material is ATMOS then the Legacy driver should be perfectly fine for OTA and TVE viewing?
Just use default and if you have issues move to the legacy but i doubt you will
Default is creating audio drops when using my HDHR
