Automatic scan for hd homerun no longer works

I have a few channels dvr servers working. One of the problems I've encountered is that in the newer releases the automatic scan for the HD Homerun device no longer works. In Centos it never worked! But in Ubuntu it almost always worked. Currently I'm running Ubuntu 20.04 server.

Do you have any suggestions for getting this to run again?

What do you mean by automatic scan?

I wonder if this is related to your broken network settings?

Somehow my neplan .yaml had become corrupted.

After fixing your network settings, did you only restart your networking, or did you do a full system reboot? If only the former, you may need to restart Avahi and its associated services, and then restart the DVR service.

The network settings are working perfectly now. By "automatic scan" I'm referring to the feature where channels dvr will search and find HD Homerun devices on the network. I have two of them. I know the IP addresses and I've entered them in manually. But it's really nice when the server will actually scan and find them because if the power goes out they will sometimes change IP addresses.

I've had the problem with channels dvr not finding the hd homerun when running centos. But with Ubuntu I've not had a problem until the last year of so. I think the network is running fine and another channels dvr server I have running under Ubuntu has the same problem and it's network connection has never been a problem.

HDHR tuners send out broadcast packets on 65001/UDP; that is how the "automatic discovery" of the devices works. You need to ensure that you have that port open so the DVR can find the tuners.

Or, you can manually add tuners to the DVR by IP.

I don't have that port open. I'll go ahead and give it a try. I really appreciate the help!
