Automatically Delete ChannelsDVR Buffer Files in Kodi

Hello,

I am running Kodi on several Android devices (Chromecasts, Android TV, and some Nvidia Shields). My Channels DVR runs on a Truenas server backend. On each client, I noticed I was running out of disk space. I traced it down to the special://profile/addon_data/pvr.channelsdvr directory, specifically to the channelsdvr-buffer files. These files are 64 MB each, but after awhile, they really add up to consume a large amount of space. I am able to manually delete these files, but I have not found a way to automatically clean up this directory. Has anyone else ran into this or found a solution? As a feature request, it would be nice to be able to specify a clean-up interval for this directory which could be set depending on your device (I may select to keep more of this data before deleting on one of my larger devices compared to one of my smaller devices.)

Those files are supposed to get cleaned up when you stop watching live tv.

What version of kodi?

Thank you for writing me back!. I have v. 19.3 of Kodi on all of my devices right now. The Channels DVR addon version is 2022.06.01.0219.

Bump

Also does not delete files on v. 19.4

Sorry to bother, but any Solution on being able to automatically delete those buffer files I asked about? It has occurred for me on every single device I own using the channels DVR add on.

I figured it out. It was an issue with the skin I was using. The Amber skin does not allow cleaning out of these files. I switch skins and it works now.
