Hi, I'm traveling for work and in the past channels has worked perfectly but I'm running into an issue where when I try to load either channels from my HDHomerun or TVEverywhere I get the following error: "Connection lost: the channels dvd server has a problem. Please play to try again (Transcoder reset)." When I play any DVR content that seems to work no issue. Any idea on why the channels portion isn't loading?
Can't help but do you mean you only see the error when selecting Live channels from your HDHR or TVE sources and that playing back a recording has no problems?
Sounds like settings and that the server is transcoding, but it can't keep up with Live TV.
You should say what client you see the issue with.
It seems to be happening both with my Apple and fire stick devices
Assuming your network isnt a problem, tailscale is a great way to access channels away from home
I agree yet Tailscale dose not fix bad hotel WiFi.
I figured it out, in the server settings I toggled on the "old tuner, tv everywhere, streaming" buttons and that seemed to fix the problem.
Which one is that?
Experimental Toggle experimental features
[ ] Experimental Remote Live TV Segmenter - Test experimental remote Live TV Segmenter. This may fix some uncommon issues with remote Live TV streaming.
[ ] Experimental Imported Movie Matching - Test experimental support for mapping content IDs for imported movies to prevent re-recording
[ ] Tablo Network Tuner Support - Discover and use Tablo tuners (3rd-generation only) on your local network
[ ] De-duplicate HDHomeRun Channels - If you have a cable provider that provides the same channel on multiple channel numbers (identified by frequency and program), this will de-duplicate them
[ ] Old TV Everywhere MPEG-TS Rewriter - Use deprecated MPEG-TS Rewriter. Intended to be used for testing if there are problems with TV Everywhere (resets on DVR restart).
[ ] Use HEVC for transcoding - Use HEVC (H.265) for transcoding instead of H.264 for streaming to client apps. Requires hardware that can handle encoding HEVC.
[ ] Old Tuner Sharing Buffer - Use deprecated Tuner Sharing buffer. Intended to be used for testing if there are problems with Tuner Sharing (resets on DVR restart).
[ ] Old Streaming System - Use deprecated streaming system for recorded content. Intended to be used for testing if there are problems with remote streaming (resets on DVR restart).
[ ] Web Player Adaptive Streaming - Use adaptive streaming for the web player in the browser. This is known to have issues on some browsers.
[ ] HTTP Logging - Record all HTTP requests to the DVR log
[ ] Old TV Everywhere Embedded Chrome Launcher - Use the deprecated TV Everywhere embedded Chrome launcher. Intended to be used for testing if there are problems with TV Everywhere when directed by developers.
I did these 3 below, may not need all of them on but once it started working I figured I would leave it ha.
-Old Streaming System
-Old Tuner Sharing Buffer
-Old TV Everywhere MPEG-TS Rewriter
This worked for me! Thank you! It's strange because before the 9-10-2024 update, everything worked just fine. Thank you so much.
