I just signed up for a year and was wondering about Back To Back Recordings on same channel with padding.

  1. Does it Keep padding for Both ?
  2. Does it use the same tuner ?

I am asking because the HDHomeRun DVR keeps padding for both and uses the same tuner as long as they are on the same channel.

These are regular expressions … You might call them something else.

Indie Horror Movies

Categories == Movie
Channel == 832
Genres == Horror

TCMHD HORROR

Categories == Movie

Those are not "regular expressions." Regular expressions (aka: "regex'," "regexps") are a kind of text pattern-matching "language." The more advanced regex machines (extended regexps, pcre, etc.) are exceedingly powerful.

I wish the Channels DVR support regexps. It would make certain things much easier to do. For example, your two entries could be expressed as:

Name == Indie Horror Movies|TCMHD HORROR
Categories == Movie
Channel == 832|784
Genres == Horror

That's a silly example, because there'd be little reason to do that.

Nontheless: I agree with you: Despite the lack of regular expression support, the Channels DVR Passes facility is very nice.

Gotcha Thanks .. I did not try the OR | was gonna try it later but as you indicated it will not work.... Setting up advanced passes is a great feature.
