Is it possible to set up a backup DVR? for example I have my DVR set up on my NAS...but if something happens to the NAS I have another DVR set up on my Mac Mini...
is there a way to do this where the app always checks for the primary server first?
also is there a way to put all of the recordings in the same place?
I run 2 DVR' one to record movies and my main for daily recordings ... on my main DVR I import the movies.

Yes the 2nd DVR can be pulled up by IP in settings.... You can switch back and forth, The main DVR is also used for remote access. I usually record Movies by actors and Genres so I just let that DVR chug along.

You already have a DVR running ... just setup a 2nd DVR on what ever PC/Mac you have available disable bonjour on it and you are good to go.... Only 1 DVR can have remote access so you can disable this also. If you want to share recordings just use them as imports. I have 1 running on a synology and another on a Linux NUC.
but do you see them both in the app...I can only see one and I don't see a way to add another. I used to be able to add another server but I don't see a way to do that now...
i have them both set up and I scan add the ip address and switch back and forth in the app but I don't have the ability to keep them stored and just select which one I wanna use.
No way to keep the IPs stored you just have to remember them. Only way to switch is to enter IP in settings.
ahhh ok I got it now...is there a way to stop the system from automatically looking for a server on the network?
Disable bonjour but the Client will always remember last DVR connected to.
