Backup Help needed

Good Morning

I am proud to say I have become a full on subscriber, I was a longtime Plex user but the lack of proper M3U support caused me to look elsewhere and was evaluating both Emby and Channels DVR and Channels DVR and specifically the lighting fast support I receive here is what made the decision for me.

My question is I currently run from a Windows 10 box and will be reinstalling on a Windows 11 box. I have spent a considerable amount of time in creating Channels Collection groupings and dont want to have to redo all that. In addition I will be moving all my media from network shares to the local nvme drive.

I know I will have to re-add all the media and recording folders to reflect this change and I have done some research and know how to manually force a fresh backup but I am a little confused as I believe that the backup is stored here "C:\ProgramData\ChannelsDVR\data" my confusion stems from there doesn't appear to be a single backup folder so is it the entire 'data" folder that is considered the backup? If so is it just a matter of replacing the entire folder or is there a way to restore properly?

Also is the channel collections (the main thing I want backed up) included there?

One last question when setting up recordings when I try to playback there always seems to be a message saying "Recording Interrupted" so my thinking is that by having both Channels DVR and the recordings folder on the same drive will help but my more pertinent question is there a way to designate the recording format such as .mp4 or H.264 etc etc. I am thinking by reducing the recording quality may also help. If not at least when I ask for help I can reduce the amount of variables such as the recordings folder on a network share as opposed to a local drive

Thank you in advance for any help or guidance you can provide!!

The backups in your case are stored in Y:\Recordings\Database

Thank you for the lighting fast answer as always!! Is there a way to change or designate recording format quality when using the DVR portion of Channels DVR?

Recordings are always made at best quality. You can change the payback quality on some clients.

Your interrupted recordings likely due to your provider, not your hardware.

Thank you for the responses greatly appreciated!!

Yes they are included. Everything is included except the actual tv show/movie/recordings files
