I am trying to move a backup of ChannelsDVRdata to another nas.
On synology NAS1 i copied all the data from ChannelsDVRdata to another folder.
It is this folder i am trying copy, this folder is also a shared CIFS folder.
I have tried:
- using the CP command to copy this folder to NAS2 (where the folder is a mounted CIFS drive on NAS2).
- accessing the backup folder from a windows machine to copy locally to windows
In both cases i am getting permissions denied when copying ChannelsDVRdata/Logs/comskip/1/video.mpg
I suspect this is because its a symbolic link to the original recordings.
Thing is i can copy the recordings themselves just fine.
Questions:
- Do i need the logs/comskip directory for the backup and restore or can i, ahem, skip it?
- If i do need it, how do i copy this correctt?
Note the compskip symbolic link has the same permissions as all other files, which i can copy just fine
