Feature Request: Saturation / Contrast / Brightness video filter controls.
Issue: Video displayed by Channels does not match color and brightness of other Apple TV playback. Having some basic video settings to add a filter stage (if this is even possible with the tvOS frameworks) to enhance color, etc, would greatly improve quality. When the TV is tuned to the OTA channel using its internal tuner, the color and contrast look better, and more closely match that of the Apple TV and other inputs.
Secondary issue: With HDR enabled on the ATV 4k, video looks better when UI elements (e.g. top or bottom info bars) are displayed. Picture loses some brightness and contrast when the UI elements disappear. When UI elements are recalled, such as with a swipe up or down on the remote, picture quality is enhanced again.
Solutions such as disabling HDR or changing the TV settings for the ATV are not good because the Channels App is not the primary use case for the ATV, and having the other apps over saturated, or overbright, is not ideal; constantly changing settings is not convenient. If possible, the adjustment should be app-specific.
Other feedback: So far the app has been awesome! Very nice work. Well worth the $. Playback is smooth and guide data with show and network logos is a great advantage! Would recommend to anyone considering buying but on the fence. Looks like it is getting regular updates and enhancements, too.
Setup: ATV 4K, Wired Ethernet, HDHR Connect, Channels 3.1.4, tvOS 11.1
