Best Cloud Drive Backup Service

I’m curious as to what cloud drive backup service y’all are using and if y’all are using one?

I was thinking of going with BackBlaze. I have an old cheesegrader Mac Pro tower and I have 4 drives in it that I could backup. I believe it’s like $7 dollars a month or $80 dollars a year.

I use livedrive. They have unlimited backup and they do not limit your upload speed. My big pet peeve is that I have fiber but I'm still relegated to less than 10mbit transfer rate with crashplan. Livedrive supports multiple threads and I averaged about 200mbit upload. So I dumped crashplan for them. Their servers are located in the UK so the latency is actually better for me from Virginia than crashplans were in California.

If you want to make sure your data is not only safe from a crash, but also prying eyes, Tarsnap is probably the best out there.

Depends on what you mean by "backup service" and what you need. Are you looking to real time, or at set intervals back up your PC and keep that updated and in sync. Or do you mean you need to store/archive data onto a cloud backup solution and not often sync or update it.

For the first use case, I have been using BackBlaze for many years. Its fully unlimited per pc, with stipulations (no support for network drives and removable drives must be connected.) However, all my main data is stored on a re-purposed normal PC running Win11 as my NAS and media server. So can run BackBlaze on that and it real time backs up all my data. Also use it on my folks home bossiness computers. Have had to download accidently locally deleted files a few times. I at one point, uploaded 18TB worth of data to BackBlaze.

For data archive, i just use spare hdds/ssds. Do not use Cloud backup for long term data archival.
Though, i do use pCloud for photo and vid sync from my phone to cloud so that i can have it sync to my NAS the actual files. Also use Google Drive Workspace provided to me by a contact to store large amounts of data for some video related projects.

Looking to back up my TV Shows, Movies, & Channels DVR recordings.

Again, what do you mean by "backup".

Like i mentioned, BackBlaze is a real time sync backup solution...if you delete or change something on the thing being backup, the backup then updates to match. (with BackBlaze standard tier, backup client must be online and active at least once every 30 days or all data on the cloud is deleted)

Data archival backup solution does not change if you change the data source, unless you specifically go in and do so.

BackBlaze does have a different Cloud storage product for data archival use. (B2 Cloud Storage)

Like if my internal drive were to fail. I would need to go and grab the data to restore onto a new drive. If that makes since.

That is possible with both. But you don't seem to be understanding or are ignoring what has been mentioned.

If you have your data on an always on machine, ie your Windows or Mac then the normal BackBlaze or real time data backup will be what you want. That will stay in sync as you add or remove files on that computer. (This seems to be what you are wanting to do)

If you want to move data completely off your drives, to free off space, then you can store them on a Cloud Archival service or just normal cloud drive like Google Drive etc. This will not stay in sync unless you specifically do so manually.
