I'm moving in a month to an area provided by Cox. I currently am serviced by Spectrum. I'd like the ability to use Channels as my go to source for watching recorded programs. I need to be able to record the tennis channel and fairly basic channels after that (ABC, NBC, CBS, ESPN, and various basic channels like HGTV, etc). I understand that the TVE is the main sticking point for a lot of these. I tried FuboTV, but realized quickly that it didn't have Tennis Channel TVE access and I don't want to have to switch to the FuboTv app just to watch it. Is my best option simply to use Cox? Or is there another service that I should consider?
Cox is probably your only option. The Tennis channel is owned by Sinclair, which doesn’t like streaming services. You might have issues with locals also unless you have an Antenna or locast.
Does sling do tennis channel tve or at and tv now or whatever it's called? I'm not sure...but worth checking out.
Thank you for the suggestion. I've tried to read through the forums quite a bit before posting this questions and from what I can gather, Sling doesn't good a good job with TVE and it also doesn't have local stations (ABC, NBC, CBS, etc). I am not concerned about price and I'll probably do as the first poster suggested and just go with Cox. I was just wondering if there was anything better out there before locking myself into a 2 year agreement with Cox. If there was something out there with a better TVE implementation for the things I need, I'd be interested, but at least for now, it doesn't look like it as far as I can tell.
That website is pretty cool. I didn't see a way to filter for TVE streams? I think it is just showing providers that allow you to watch the selected channels, but this wouldn't necessarily mean that you could record those channels with Channels DVR because they may not have a TVE stream.
Ya, just search their support pages (or Google to see if TVE is included) after you figure out which work for your price range, perhaps?
One other thing to keep in mind is that watching within fubo will likely be higher quality. Tve tennis channel is only 30fps whereas I think it is 60fps on fubo.
That's good to know. The more I learn about video, the more I realize I don't know.
