Best Way to Integrate Android and Web Browser Only Stream

I recently subscribed to CNBC+ which allows viewing either on Android phones or the web browser. Sadly they don't currently allow viewing access in the Google TV app. I want to know the best way to integrate this stream into my existing Channels DVR ecosystem. I am currently running Channels from a RPI 4B. It seems there are a few options:

  • Android phone connected to HDMI capture card
  • Anther RPI connected to HDMI capture card
  • Chrome Capture docker container (unlikely to run on RPI)

Are there any other options? I want something that is reliable and ideally low cost.

Have you tried contacting the developers or support and mentioned this limitation? It seems rather odd that they would do this intentionally and is probably very easy to fix.

The best solution is to use an android phone and Cast to your TV.

CNBC wants you to purchase a TV subscription and thus tries to limit this to smartphones/browsers.
