Beta - Channel Collections

For Apple TV, it seems like the Current Collection in Quick Guide setting lags behind the actual selected channel collection.

For example, I'll be in my "News" collection, then switch to my "Sports" collection to watch ESPN. When I swipe down on the quick guide while watching ESPN, I'll see ESPN but then all of my news channels still. If I exit back to the guide and select again, it usually switches to the right collection.

I'm seeing this lag too. It seems like the 2nd time you get to the QuickGuide after you've changed the collection you get the right collection.

I'm really liking this as I've played with it over the weekend. I think this will become the flagship feature of the product because its name is Channels, and now control and organization of the "channels" is front and center, and unlike any other product I've seen or remember.

I do have one issue though in my "News" collection. I have CNN via DirecTV TVE. It shows as channel 6030 CNNHD. I also have a different CNN via Pluto as a Custom Channel. It is not the same stream as DTV's CNN, it's a curated and constantly-updated playlist of sorts, which I often prefer to watch over real, live CNN. And it shows as channel 10559 CNN. The issue is that while I have access to both of these via the "All" section on Channels, I can't add both of them to "News" (or any other collection, for that matter.) It's either 6030 or 10559, but not both. I'm thinking Channels in this context is seeing these as the same exact channel, but they're not.

This was because the channel identifier was conflicting. This has been resolved via the pluto-for-channels project. You'll need to update your docker to the latest release to get things fixed.

1. update your pluto-for-channels docker container
2. go to your pluto custom channels source and choose Reload M3U and then Redownload XMLTV.

Not all of the channels from all of my OTA tuners are available in the selection box when creating/adding to a collection. Its as if it maxes out due to the pluto and stirr channels. And then cuts off by the time it gets to 54.1 on my Quatro. But there are more OTA channels on that Quatro and even more on two other Extends. I just can't see them in the list/search to pick a channel.

This has been resolved and is in the next pre-release that's going up now.

Excellent. Just updated the docker container, reloaded m3u, redownloaded xmltv, and was then able to add 10559 CNN alongside 6030 CNNHD to my "News" Channel Collection. Thanks!

I really just need to play with this, and I wouldn't have to ask this, but it's possible to get rid of some of the default categories or reuse them?

The default categories is unrelated to the collections. They are dynamic filters that show the channels that have shows playing presently that are in the category, like if a movie is playing, then that channel is in the Movies category. You can have one or the other, but not both. You'll need to curate your own lists of channels for your collections.

A hide feature would be cool then. I'd probably hold onto All, News, Movies, and whatever I decide to create.
