We've just rolled out a new remote caching system in iOS and tvOS beta v2021.10.17.0358:
It brings a few niceties:
- Playing recorded shows now shares a cache between WiFi and Cellular connections
- Transcoding recorded shows at home will now share a cache with WiFi and Cellular connections
- Improved storage handling of caches
- A button to remove all cached recordings to free up space: Settings -> Support -> Clear Disk Cache
These changes have been tested internally for a couple weeks and we are now expanding the testing to the greater beta group. Please let us know if you see any strange behaviors around disk usage.
