Not sure what’s happened, but TestFlight on tvOS is no longer showing me as subscribing to Channels beta updates. I’ve attempted to re-sub from my original invite email but TestFlight informs me that the code is invalid or revoked… did the beta program end?
Yes the general tvOS beta program has been discontinued, as we are only testing DVR related features at the moment.
Okay. So how do I watch all my recorded shows on Apple TV now? The Channels Beta app won’t work on ATV anymore. TestFlight says there are no more Channels updates. And the regular Channels app that I downloaded via the ATV app store does not have the DVR menu at the top. My wife and kids are getting upset that they cannot watch their DWTS and TAR!!!
The regular Channels app works with the DVR. Would you try restarting the app by double clicking the button that looks like a monitor on the remote, scrolling left right to find the Channels app, swiping up and finally, starting the app again?
Yep. Tried that the other day when I first realized it wasn’t working properly. Manually terminated the Channels app and restarted it. Nothing. Also tried restarting the ATV. Still nothing. My server is up and running the Channels DVR back-end and is still recording all our shows just fine. I just can’t bring up the DVR menu or Recordings menu on the ATV Channels app.
Is bonjour checked on the DVR settings page? If it is already checked, and the DVR and ATV are on the same subnet, I would try restarting the DVR.
One last thing, the current ATV app is 2.1.33. Is that what you have installed?
Yes please check what version of the app you’re running. All the DVR features are available in 2.1.33
I’ve sent you another beta invite as well, but the App Store build is newer than the last beta we put out.
Yes, Bonjour is checkmarked and running on the DVR server. Not sure which version of the ATV app I’m running. I’m at work right now. So, will need to wait until I get home to check. However, I previously had only the Beta app on my ATV. When it stopped working the other day (Wednesday, I believe), I downloaded the regular Channels app from the ATV app store. So, I imagine it’s whichever version is the latest available on the app store.
I will try rebooting everything when I get home tonight, too, just to be on the safe side!
