Big skip ahead/back with remote

Is it possible to do a big skip forward/back with the remote control? 10 minutes is pretty useful especially when watching sports recordings.

You can customize how far a seek with Right/Left goes based upon the categories of "Movie", "Sports", and regular programming.

Also, if you press-and-hold Right or Left, you can scan as if pressing FF/RWD. And, on Apple TV, you can use the trackpad to quickly seek when paused.

(Unfortunately, you cannot have separate seek levels like you can with MPV, where Right/Left goes in 10s increments and Up/Down does on 60s increments, etc.)

Thanks, but I would like to keep the small skips too.

Then as stated, you can press-and-hold for FF/RWD instead of advancing by pre-set durations.

I have tried that but I don't like scanning like that. I would request being able to do separate big and small skips like in Kodi, HDHomerun, and apparently MPV.

I wanted something similar. I solved this using a home assistant automation. I can now specify the amount of seconds or minutes I want to skip forward or back :slight_smile:
