Ok, good suggestion,

The Shield and the HDHomeRun are all connected to the same router and Shield is hard wired to the router. I do have an 8 port switch which may be the culprit? I will check the wiring. Wow, I did the wiring exercise to ensure an always stable connection.

You answered this before but to be clear with tuner sharing off it does not matter whether I use Channels App or Channels DVR app, correct?

It doesn’t matter what app you use.

So the HDHR is connected to the switch and the SHIELD is connected to the router? It would be better if the HDHR, Shield and ATVs were all on the 8-port switch and not split across switch/router.

Things have calmed down. I uninstalled the PC version of Channels DVR, turned off Tuner sharing and checked all the internal wiring. So far so good.
