If I block/disable channels on the server, shouldn't they not show up in the app? When I choose all, shouldn't it only show all the channels I don't have blocked? And then Favorites pairs it down one more level? A little annoying to go through the server and block all these channels only to have to still scroll through them on the app.

Client and server maintain separate favorite/disabled channels. The server list is used for recording, while the client is used for live TV.
In the Android client, there is an option in the Settings > Manage Tuners to sync your channel list with the server; you can use this option to keep your clients and server using the same set of favorite/disabled channels.
I do the import sync. I think because it's Verizon, and I have to redo tve every month, I have to redo the sync too. It doesn't seem to remember it unfortunately.
