I find myself wondering why the Channels DVR webpage is not advertised over Bonjour in such a way that it shows up in the Bonjour drop-down menu in Safari. My NAS, Printer Management and Audio Receiver all show up there. It would be pretty convenient.
The service is advertised using a specific name instead of the generic “_http._tcp”. This makes it much easier for the iOS and tvOS clients to find the server. There are no plans to change this behavior.

I guess the question might be if it would be possible to add an option to also advertise the service as http.tcp as well (a check mark) for those that may want that functionality.
FWIW, the last few releases of the Safari Technical Preview haven’t had the Bonjour browser.
That’s odd. I wonder why? I find it to be a convenient feature, due to the amount of web-based services on my home network (printer, NAS, stereo, SS receiver).
