Break TV show into multiple parts?

I now have saved up several years of broadcasts of the Grammy Awards. I like to re-watch some of the live performances from time-to-time. Problem is, the shows are hours long and it can be quite an effort to find a particular performance.

I searched the forums and see that someone asked about a bookmarking feature, but that appears to be a no-go.

So what about this... What if I use an editor of some sort to split up the show into individual segments, and put those in my import folder? But Channels doesn't seem to have a concept of anything smaller than an episode. So how would I name the individual segments of the same episode so that Channels would present them to me in a meaningful way?

Here's another thought... Do streamlinks or filelinks support a start time? If so, I could write a bunch of links to the same stream with the start times of the various performances.

In my non-expert opinion, I don't think stream links or stream files will help with what you want to achieve. I will let somebody with more knowledge either confirm or prove me wrong.

I think your best bet is to do what you first mentioned by editing the original shows and keeping only the musical performances of interest. Then you will want to put them in a video group (folder) called "Grammy Musical Performances" (or whatever you like), and follow the directions pertaining to Videos in this support article:

Editing the original show should work. How do I export the original show to my computer?

Export what?
The recorded file is on your Channels DVR server with a .mpg file extension.
No way to "export" the metadata for it AFAIK, unless you use the Support > API & Feeds

Where do I find it? (Sorry if this is a stupid question)

What is "it"?

The recorded files will be where you told Channels DVR to put them

Does that answer your "it" question?
