I've searched the forum but cannot find how to bring up the PIP feature with the remote. I do have it turned on in the settings menu but cannot actually bring up the PIP. What step am I missing?
It’s an icon on the screen above the timeline.
Hello Maddox
Thanks for your prompt response I've looked all over I do NOT see anything above the timeline that would allow me to select the PIP feature. Here is what I'm doing I select a channel that I want to watch on the guide, the picture comes in. I then want to go back to the guide while still maintaining the active channel but I do not see that PIP icon. I've paused the channel so that the timeline shows but I do not see any ICON which would allow me to select the PIP. Here is a screenshot of the timeline on active channel. Maybe I need to restarte the Channels server or something that's the only thing I haven't tried?? Any suggestions?
Did you turn it on in the Playback settings?
Yes, the option is selected in the settings. So here is what I just did restart the Channels DVR on the hosting PC, restart the Apple TV box. Launched the Channels app and selected a station once the station is playing I then hit the back button on the Apple TV remote then the live station went into the PIP format allowing me the option to browse the guide while still viewing live TV. I never say anything above the timeline but it's working and the steps I used to got the PIP option.
Not to belabor the obvious but the setting is titled “Hide Picture in Picture button” so in your case the option should be set to OFF, if you want the PIP button to display.
If that doesn’t do it, try Settings > Playback > Advanced > Video Driver > Experimental. I know that at least on iPad I had to enable that, for the PIP button to display, even when it wasn't set to be hidden, via Settings.
Hello Fofer
As mentioned previously everything is working after I did the master reset. However, taking your suggestion I just rechecked and I did have the Picture in Picture ON. So I switched it to Off and I now see the PIP ICON above the timeline. The only thing you get but having the PIP set to off is the ICON as a secondary approach to enabling the PIP option. For me as long as I hit the back but on the remote it automatically goes in the PIP mode and gives the ability one would expect.
Thanks for the advice
