Broadcast hangs and does not restart

Channels DVR has been reasonably stable but this one bug is irritating. It occurs when I am watching live TV and the screen will just stop (freeze) at a point and never resume. I need to go to the guide and restart the program in order to fix it.

Setup:

HRHomeRun Prime
QNAP NAS as Channels DVR server
Tivo Stream 4k client

Happens both local and remote (same client both homes). Have updated server software numerous times and same behavior.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like a receive signal issue to me. Perhaps your HRHomeRun Prime has a loss of signal for whatever channel you are watching, and it doesn't recover?

To rule out Channels as a issue.

Next time Channel freezes.

  1. Channels server screen > Sources > HDHR > Click the ip address link below it
  2. How is signal to that station?

What your describing sounds like a loss of signal from source.

Yes - it has the feel of loss of signal and no recovery. I'll check the signal next time it happens although it seems more like a drop than a signal strength issue. Whenever I go to the guide and re-open the channel it immediately plays. Also, this has happened on programs where I am recording and there is nothing missing in the recording (which would suggest the signal did not drop).

Well - I left the TV on and it hung while I was out.
