Our HOA just chose Broadstar to provide bulk internet and TV for our community. I do not see them in the TVE listing. I still have a few months before they switch. Any chance they could get added at some point? I really don't have much info on them at this point other than instead of cable boxes they use Fire Sticks as their cable boxes (with propriety software, I assume).
It has to be added by the network sites. For example on nbc.com/live there is no Broadstar login option.
That makes sense. I guess once I have more information I'll see if there is another way. They claim to have an app for all of the devices, including iOS, but I can't find the iOS app, so maybe they go under a different name. Thanks.
My HOA was attempting to do the same thing with Cox. I created a revolt and the proposal failed. While it "seemed" like a good deal, it would lock every household into a 7 year contract with Cox attached to your HOA fees. The yearly increase had a cap of 10%! You might want to ask who is making money from this deal. Once I asked that question to our HOA, stuttering is all you could hear.
Good for you! Indeed it was a good deal - for HOA board members & Cox
They already voted and it's pretty much a done deal, but it's going to take my cable+internet bill from $168 to $59 and increase speeds from 400/20 to 2GB/2GB fiber, so if the HOA get a little kickback it saves me considerably.
You got a much better deal than we were offered from Cox. 300/10 mb for internet and one step up from basic cable and phone for $75 + cable box/dvr costs and "fees".
Yeah that sucks.
