Browser viewing problematic

I'm trying to understand if what I am experiencing is "normal" or not.

I'm remote in Italy accessing my Channels DVR (QNAP NAS <- HDHOMERUN CABLE) via tailscale. I have numerous Android clients that work well in streaming. My phone (Android) also streams well. If I try to watch Channels on my PC (Surface Pro 8GB RAM) it is slow and stutters and pretty much unwatchable. I've tried with both Chrome and Firefox and the results are the same. Should I expect this level of performance or not? Thanks

Depending on your NAS, it could be it has problems transcoding.

Try changing the Web Player > Playback Quality on the Channels DVR web admin UI settings

why when i have this set to 10Mbps does the webplayer and the activity indicator say its 2Mbps - - the quality is atrocious on my system (only tried web playing for first time today, quality to my ATVs is excellent)

Using the web browser player locally should work.
Are you doing this remotely?

The 10Mbps is the maximum. If your source is less (like 2Mbps), that's what you get.
Check your Advanced Transcoder settings above that in the web UI and make sure you don't have these Experimental features enabled.

To add - am back in the US and playback using Chrome or Firefox (windows) is spotty. One problem is that I do use a memory suspender for Chrome tabs but have it turned off for my Channels DVR domain. That said, I used Edge last night and it streamed flawlessly.
