I am running a TiVo Stream 4k, so I don't know how this applies to other devices. I am specifically talking about the "Live" remote button, but it appears that the software has the concept of a virtual "Live" button as well. They may be tied to the same thing or not.
Edit: I did verify that the mapped "Live TV" function to a color button has the same behavior. I updated the title as well. I presume that means that all Android TV devices are impacted.
Definitions:
Current channel: The currently viewed live channel or the last viewed live channel if none is playing.
Previous channel: The channel tuned previous to the current channel.
Here is the current behavior for pressing the Live button (partially from memory):
From full screen live TV: Toggles to Previous channel
From anywhere else w/o PiP showing: Starts full screen live TV with Previous channel (BUG)
With PiP showing: Toggles to Previous channel within the PiP
Requested behavior of the Live button:
From full screen live TV: Toggles to Previous channel
From anywhere else w/o PiP showing: Starts full screen live TV with Current channel (BUG fix)
With PiP showing single click: Return to full screen live TV with Current channel
With PiP showing long press: Close PiP
Optional: With PiP showing double click: Toggles to Previous channel within the PiP
Thanks,
Josh
Edit2: I had a made a copy paste error when describing the functionalities. I fixed it by removing the "within the PiP" from the "Fromfull screen live TV" lines. Sorry about that.
