Bug report: Playback speed resets when enabling PiP on Apple TV

Environment

  • Device: Apple TV
  • tvOS: 26.2
  • Channels app: 7.0.1

Steps to reproduce

  1. Play any recording.
  2. Change playback speed (e.g., set to 2x).
  3. Enable Picture-in-Picture (PiP).

Actual result

When PiP is activated, Channels resets the playback speed to the show’s configured default.

Example:

  • If a show is configured to always play at 1.5x, playback drops from 2x back to 1.5x after enabling PiP.

Expected result

Channels should preserve the current playback speed when entering PiP, not revert to the show’s default.

Additional notes

  • This behavior worked correctly in earlier releases.
  • Regression observed in recent versions.
