Cache Cleanup ... why so little?

I noticed that channels likes to keep cache under 1G ... but I looked at the cache and lots of old stuff why does it cleanup so little ? I got stuff from FEB.

2022/05/23 16:02:13.868551 [HC] Removed 784.5K from /mnt/md0/public/ChannelsDVR/Images/tmsimg to keep under cache limit of 1G

It doesn’t care about dates. It just keeps the image cache under 1GB. Once it grows past 1GB, the oldest stuff drops off the list.

It’s a cache. It’s supposed to be full. It loads from that instead of the internet.

I use Fire TV and have found that on ATSC 3.0 channels sound does not always get identified. Clearing the cache seems to help

Which cache, The app cache on the Fire TV or the Channels DVR server streaming cache?
The thread is talking about image cache on the DVR Server for channel logos and show artwork.

The App catch

I have numerous ios reboots (but not as many with android) which I believe are tied to my large tv episode collection. I have been going through Shows and updating art with "apply to all recordings" to change all thumbnails to shrink the 1g load. Is there an global reset all art? Also, sometimes the thumbnails do not take and the new art isn't loaded? Same old thumbnails.

I’m going to throw my hat in the ring here. I’ve noticed similar issues with my android client. Whenever a change is made to the server, especially m3u or channel number changes. Things go sideways and the only real fix is to clear the data.

Could you add an option for us to control the caching mechanism per device, home/remote or otherwise? This would be REALLY helpful on iOS as well.
