Can I move shows out of the PLAYON folder to a drive defined in Storage Paths

Can I move shows out of the PLAYON folder to a drive defined in Storage Paths? I tried to move the entire PLAYON folder to another drive defined in my Storage Paths but it came back with path errors.

What path errors?

A media could not be loaded error, see pic.

Does the Log show any errors?

You can not move directories that Channels DVR Server uses. These paths are hard coded and the software has an expectation that they are there. If you move it, the software has no idea where you moved it to.

General rule: Don't move or touch anything in the Channels DVR Server DVR storage folder.

Sorry, I should be more clear in my description & my use of the term 'moved' , I presently use the "Storage Paths" area to define large external drives to where I copy the path & folder structure and move the actual recordings as I archive off recordings on my main Channels DVR hard drive. I copied the PlayOn folder structure and files to the same folder that I copied for "TV" and "Movies" (see pic) on the external and then deleted the shows off the Channels DVR drive (just like I do for TV & Movies).

It doesn't look like PlayOn recordings are hooked up to the additional storage feature. I would like to fix this in the future but at the moment it doesn't work.

Ok, oh well, I was just trying to do a little housekeeping since this PlayOn integration thing came along.

The only message in the log is -

2021/03/18 15:04:08.332180 [HLS] Couldn't generate master playlist: Couldn't probe recording

and it just repeats every 2 seconds until it gives the Media could not be loaded error.

I too had hoped extra paths would have worked for PlayOn. Until it's corrected, which I hope is soon  I added PlayOn/TV to TV Sources and PlayOn/Movies to Movie Sources. Seems to work, although TV episode descriptions are missing and thumbnails are taken from the file and not the series thumbnail. But it's the best I can do for now as local space is limited on my Mac mini.

This is fixed in the next prerelease

Confirmed, although you already know that. Upgraded to latest pre-release, moved files from DVR/PlayOn to alternate NAS/DVR/PlayOn storage directory, and PlayOn play back was successful.

Thank you!!!

Thanx for the help, the excellent service, and for not yelling at me.

My dvr won't find it once I move it?

They're talking about additional storage locations, not local content import.
