Can I set up a guest Access to my Channels DVR server?

Hello,

I’ve had the Channels iOS application for quite some time. Getting an ATV4 (have two ATV3’s now) mainly just just the TVOS Channel application. I have two HDHomerun tunners: an older DUAL and a newer CONNECT. Thinking about getting an EXTEND too! Anyway, I just subscribed to the DVR service and I absolutely love it. I also purchased HDHomerun (SiliconDust) DVR service too, but I like Channels DVR service better.

Anyway. love that I can get to my live TV, set recordings, watch recordings, etc, all away from home. I used to do this using EyeTV on my Mac and iOS stuff, but Channels is much better.

However, I was wondering — is it possible to setup the Channels DVR service on my Mac for guest access? That is, I could allow anyone on the internet to get to my tuners and recordings and stream them? I wouldn’t want guests to be able to do any type of configuration, set up recording schedules, or anything like that, but just be able to stream live from the tuners or recorders that are already saved. I would like to be able to do this for my family that lives in a different city.

There is a remote access feature built into the iOS and tvOS apps, but it’s designed for personal use and not guest access. Limited guest profiles is something we are thinking about for the future.

Yeah, I use the personal remote almost every day. It’s great! Thank you for the reply. A limited guest access would be a near future too.
