I am needing to setup Manual DNS on my Deco Mesh System and am hoping this won't interfere with my Channels Server. I know there are issues when using a VPN but am wondering if I could modify the DNS?
Your question needs more detail. Are you going to set your router's WAN to use manually configured DNS server(s)? The other thing you could be talking about is configuring your router to answer DHCP requests from hosts on your lan with manually configured DNS server(s).
In general, Channels DVR works best with ISP configured DNS yet it can work with other DNS servers. Channels usually detects this and throws an error when you run /support /troubleshooting. If you can, set the server to uses your ISP DNS manually. If you can't due to conflicting application needs, if channels DVR works OK you can ignore the warning.
