I plan on using my iMac hooked up with an external hard drive with the DVR feature. Is there a way to set it up so the iMac can go to sleep and then wake up when it needs to record a show or must it be left on forever after?
Yes, during installation it will ask you to install the “auto wake helper” which can wake up your mac to make recordings.
