Can old recorded content live beside new recorded content on two separate drives?

I've got a kind of embarassing issue! It's embarrassing because I've been using this program for so long and thought I had basic stuff like this figured out! I did a search but had trouble finding my exact issue. Apologies if this is a duplicate post.

So say I set up Channels on my drive named HDD1. Down the road it gets full, so I add a new drive named HDD2.

I don't want to move my HDD1 DVR recordings to the new drive, but I do want them to show up as recordings along with all the DVR content I record in the future on HDD2. I know how to import my local content to Channels using the personal media section in the settings. And I know how to tell Channels where to put newly recorded programs in the basic setup part of the general settings. But this I can't figure out! Is this even possible? Or do recorded shows that aren't in the main server locations have to be imported as local content?

I appreciate any help.

Just add your HDD1 as an "additional storage location" and use your new HDD2 as the new primary location for recordings. They really should create a knowledge article about this, so we don't have to keep answering this question or pointing to different posts explaining it.

OK, now I really feel like an idiot! I just went to the location you mentioned in the settings... and I'd already added the old hard drive as an additional storage location previously! (I actually have several old hard drives I've used in the past and all of them are there as well!)

I knew something felt wrong about this question thus my initial embarrassment. I've apparently done this several times in the past and just didn't scroll down the settings page far enough when looking for it this time!
