Can’t access DVR on IOS or Fire TV

I recently moved so I have a new router from Spectrum. I use a Shield for the DVR and I can access it on the Shield but if I can’t see the DVR recordings on my Fire TV or iPhone while at home. I can access my recordings on my iPhone if I turn off WiFi and use the remote functionality. I’ve disabled and reenabled bonjour on the Channels settings page but no luck yet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do the apps see your HDHomeRun devices? Can you watch live TV and just the DVR is missing?

Or are both of them missing?

It sounds like this is clearly an issue with your new router. You might want to check any ambitious security settings it might have that is blocking any software discovery things like UPNP or Bonjour.

Just the DVR is missing. I can watch live TV with no issue. I’d recheck the router settings.

Try unchecking and re-checking the bonjour setting in the Channels DVR web admin.

I’ve tried that but no luck.

Is there any IGMP setting on your router?

Try downloading the Bonjour Browser app on iPhone and see if it shows channels DVR on the list.

Also try updating to the latest DVR build by holding SHIFT and clicking Check for Updates on the DVR web UI

I was able to find that setting in the multicast functions and enabled IGMP Proxy for IPv4.

I am running the very latest version (9.26.1635)

I downloaded a bonjour browser app but it did not detect any services.

No services at all? Or just not the DVR?

No services at all.

That means something on your network is swallowing all multicast packets. Maybe there’s a firewall setting on the new router?

What make/model router is it?

I disabled IPv4 and 6 firewalls on the router and still nothing.

It’s a Spectrum RAC2V1K

Can you screenshot the Advanced > Network > Multicast section?

Some of the suggestions I found on the internet: enabling UPnP, disabling AP/client isolation, disabling proxy servers, and disabling IGMP Proxy

I went out and purchased a router and everything is working now. Thanks for your help.

Glad you got it working!

We also released a new version this weekend where you can enter the IP address of your DVR directly to connect.

I have very similar issues with the Spectrum RAC2V1K router.

I double checked everything you asked on the above posting (enabling UPnP, disabling AP/client isolation, disabling proxy servers, and disabling IGMP Proxy) and those settings were already set like that before.

FYI, I am using the 2019.02.12.0028 version of the Channels DVR on my iMac. The router is set for Port Forwarding on Port 8089.

I am attaching screenshots from the Bonjour Browser on my iPhone, the Multicast and the Port Forwarding section on my router and the error message from Safari (on the iMac).

Please let me know what I can do to make this work?

You said you have a Synology router, but the screenshots you posted are from your Spectrum router. So it seems you have to routers chained together. In this case, I would recommend enabling DMZ on your spectrum router with the IP of your Synology router, then setup the port forwarding rule on your Synology router.

I never said I have a synology router you must be mistaking me with someone else, my post clearly says I have a Spectrum router...
Please re-read my post and hopefully you can help...

Sorry, somehow I read Spectrum as Synology.

I think your setup is working, but your router doesn't support hairpinning so it doesn't work from inside your house. If you put your phone on LTE and open my.channelsdvr.net or use the Channels app it should work.

I have the same setup with Channels DVR on a mac and Spectrum RAC2V1K router, and my.channelsdvr.net gives the error over wifi, but with iPhone on LTE it displays the Channels DVR page. Over wifi using servername.lan1:8089/admin/settings in safari on laptop and iOS devices displays the Channels DVR page.
Everything else seems to be working with app on iOS over wifi and ATV over ethernet, and remote on iPhone over LTE.
