Cannot add DirecTV as TV Everywhere source

Still working. I just use the Manage Line Up Rescan Option in Sources.

I aplologize that I'm a little slow in understanding. Can you please clarify?

I am also not able to add DirecTV as a source. I removed it because some channels weren’t working and now I can’t add it back because I get the same error as in the first post in this thread. I’ve tried on several days and it keeps failing.

I'm having the same issue. I'll try on Monday.

Still a no go.

Have you tried both the DirecTV and DirecTV Stream as your source? Some of us had luck with one or the other at times.

Did you remove the source or just rescan the individual channels that weren’t working?

Before removing a Directv Stream source, try adding Directv as a source (or vice versa). That will tell you if the servers are working correctly. If they are working correctly, then just rescan the missing channels- see post about 4-5 above.

What I have been seeing is that I normally lose FS1 & BTN but all others work fine. So I just rescan those in the Source to see if they come back.

Have you updated to the latest pre release?

Thanks for the input. Still a no go with DIRECTV Stream too. I had tried to rescan but nothing was authenticating so I tried to add the DirecTV source again on Saturday but since I already had it set up, it didn't allow another one so I ended up removing and trying to add it back on.

I do have the latest pre-release as of today.

I finally got past the authentication screen but looking at the log, there are a lot of "Cable provider authentication failed" so it is not looking promising.

What is also strange is I see a lot of:

2025/09/17 15:47:46.644457 [TVE] action=tvejs msg="directvLogin: no password"

After it completes go into the source and scan individual channels.

And make sure you are on the latest prerelease.

I’ve had good luck scanning between 6-8 am CST

Only 74 of 150 worked and it's only what I consider junk channels that worked. I tried rescanning individual channels but still getting authentication failed messages. I'll try again in the early morning.

Did something change? I have been using Channels for many years and TVE was reliable for the most part.

For me Directv Stream has been consistent since the beginning. I’ve seen some isolated issues but authenticating has been horrendous the last 2-3 months. It took me over a day to authorize my last Osprey.

I now have 106/150 channels. I have the ones I need now. Thanks for helping me out!

I have the DirecTV My Entertainment and My Cinema packages. 106/150 is what I am typically able to authorize on TVE. I got lucky and have 107 right now.

If you're trying to add DirecTV as a new TV Everywhere source, the only solution seems to be trying both DirecTV and DirecTV Stream as sources. Also, having patience and being persistent, making attempts repeatedly and at different times of the day/week. When I initially signed up for DirecTV, it took about 12 hours before I managed to add the TVE source.

I am seeing this issue tonight. I already have DIRECTV Stream as a source, and yet I couldn't tune any channels using TVE. Looking at the logs I see:

action=tvejs msg="directvLogin: no password"

(among other things, of course). I have confirmed that my password is in there correctly. I've also tried to add just DIRECTV as a source, and it, too, fails with the password that's correct.

I was able to login directly in my browser, though admittedly that took a refresh to get it to bring me to the login page.

Is it just "sorry, this is an issue with the DIRECTV authentication servers" or is there something (else) I can try?

I also am seeing this failure. Lost a couple of channels this morning, tried rescanning some individual channels and they are no longer being authorized. Hopefully developers can fix. TVE is so nice when it works.
