Cannot change IPTV channel numbers

Hi - using two IPTV providers and they are getting overlapping channel numbers, so each has a channel 1/2/3/4, etc. I don't see a way to change channel numbers manually so I could have the first provider with 1/2/3/4 and the second with 5/6/7/8, etc. Is there a trick to changing channel numbers across multiple providers? Thanks

In the source settings for your playlist, you can change the setting to “Ignore channels numbers from playlist”, and Channels will assign its own channel numbers.

Actually tried that but it assigns numbers that are higher than sources lower in the priority list. I want provider 1 to have the lowest channel numbers, priority 2 to have the next channel numbers, etc.

So for example, now provider 1 starts with 9000, while provider 3 starts with 6000. I want to have the 6000's before the 9000's but don't see a way to force that.

Any idea?

Thanks

Not easily no. There are two options that pop into my head:

  1. You could save a local copy of your playlist, manually edit the channel numbers, and then point Channels to this modified playlist.
  2. Create a "shim" playlist that has the channel numbers you want, but points to the streams by their original numbers, identified by the ID they're given in Channels.

Option 1 should be pretty self-explanatory. For option 2, there are several threads about remapping channel numbers to assist in your endeavors. (On one such thread I gave examples of how I remapped TVE channel numbers to a DirecTV numbering scheme to assist my parents in their transition.) The point is this question has been asked and addressed several times, so there are quite a few posts you can reference.

Ok great, thanks very much

You can use https://iptveditor.com (paid) or https://m3u4u.com(free) to create playlist and change channel numbers.
