Cannot delete manually added HdHomeRun from DVR config

I added a remotely accessable (via VPN) HDHomeRun Extend box using its remote IP address. There now seems no way to remove it from the DVR. The "trash" box only deletes the currently in use guide data, not the device itself. How do I delete it?

If it is discoverable on the network, it will show up in the list. If it doesn't have a guide associated with it, it will not be used for the DVR.

If the tuner was manually added by IP, have you tried restarting the DVR server after removing it from the DVR?

"have you tried restarting the DVR server after removing it from the DVR?"

It is not discoverable on the network as it is a remote device. It is not on the local lan segment. It is reachable via a VPN.

Rescanning the local network for devices would never find it. It was added to the DVR config "manually" by keying in its IP address.

There is no delete function I can find. That is my dilemma. Maybe there is a config file somewhere I can manually edit? If the DVR adds devices via lan scanning and manually ---and only deletes devices via lan scanning, then there is a wormhole here.

Another strange thing is that remote hdhomerun extend shows up in the individual appletv sources list and cannot be deleted there either, only disabled.

A temporary solution to this problem is to tear down the vpn tunnel and rescan the network for devices. When the server cannot find the remote hdhomerun device, it deletes it. But this is not a permanent deletion. After the vpn tunnel is reestablished and another DVR server network scan is requested, the DVR software adds the remote hdhomerun device back in.. so this thing still exists in a config file somewhere. I guess I will have to go fishing to find where the config for this thing is stashed. It would be nice to simply delete a device on the server settings page,

curl -XDELETE http://x:8089/devices?ip=y.y.y.y

Will forget the IP and stop adding it back automatically

That did the trick .. I restarted the server afterwards and the errant hdhomerun was deleted.

Thanks.
