Cannot restore database pi4

I had a drive suspected of failing so I setup a new drive with the raspberry pi image and it boots fine , copied all my old database backups from old drive to new along with a few tv shows and movies

Boot up new drive go to the restore page navigate to database folder says no database backups found yet I can see all of them

Any ideas how to get this thing up and running using my backed up db so I don’t need to setup every pass again

What exactly do you see in the Database folder?

Does the dvr log show any errors

inside the folder i see every backup folder from my old drive, zero errors shown.

I did search and found someone else had similar issue, if i do this i get the backup found but then it tries to setup everything as DVR/old

Try just putting one backup folder instead of all. And make sure the .db files are inside and have the correct permissions

thanks i'll try that.
i edited my post i found a work around and got my file, but now its all setup as /old and none of the tv and movies i moved are found

that did work, and deleted the "old" folder.
strangest thing now is via SMB i have no "TV" folder. but in SSH i clearly see this folder.

my plan was to get the new drive setup then copy all my recordings over network. and let that run a while

You can uncheck the dvr checkbox and change the path underneath to remove the old

When I copied the entire database backup folder from old drive to new with all the backups in it - same thing happened as with you it shows them all there but says no backups found. The /old workaround I had written about, while it worked, I don't believe is necessary. If I only copy 1, or a handful (I tried less than 10) to the new /media/DVR/Database folder then it recognizes them... it only has a problem when I copy all of them.

so i solved the backup, the solution is to ONLY put one file in the database folder on the new drive.
my new issue of TV now showing in the SMB share seems to be cache on my Mac. Using SMB on a linux machine i see everything fine.
Very weird but will clear up i'm sure.

now to migrate 2tb of data and also hope new drive solves my recording issues.
