Can't Record The Ellen Show

Channels DVR Server Troubleshooting

Hi,

I had no trouble recording The Ellen Show with a Pass last season, The new season started Monday the 9th and so far, each recording has failed. My process is to turn on the MacBook Air about an hour before and sometimes I record a test of another show or channel and sometimes the same channel. All the tests were successful, but not The Ellen show.

Can someone look at the PDF I have uploaded and give me some ideas? Or any ideas to provide different data would be appreciated as well.

We need the messages from the Log tab of the DVR (at the top right). Scroll back to when a recording was supposed to occur and copy/paste the messages shown.

Opened HomeRun app and can view most channels but not CBS (45.3) which is where Ellen Show is syndicated where I live.

This error is coming from the hdhomerun. I think it means the signal is not good, but you can ask [email protected] for more details.

Thanks for your help. Quick question - do I need to maintain the $35.00/annual cost of HD HomeRun DVR in order to record on Channels? I don't think so, but thought I'd better confirm.

No you don't need that if you're using Channels DVR

Hi Again,
I put in a ticket with Silicon but also downloaded and installed the latest Mac version of HD Homerun software. At first it was a black screen on HD Homerun but Channels did record shows but it was choppy. A few hours later and all seems to be pretty good. I'm even able to view CBS and record. I'll record some shows tonight and hope for Ellen to be successfully recorded tomorrow. I'll let you know.

It sounds like your antenna is not picking up that channel reliably, so it works sometimes and not others.

You can look up your location on tvfool.com and it will tell you what direction the TV towers are in and what kind of antenna you need to pick them up.
