Can't restore Channels data on new server

Just reinstalled my Channels installations and am trying to get my old information back. This is Ubuntu Linux server. I did back up multiple times before I reinstalled and don't understand what I did or didn't do to not be able to restore the right information. I am able to to see all the correct information under my Linux directories but whenever I restore from the browser it appears that I'm getting data from a few years back. It doesn't look like I am restoring the same file names although this IS the same directory

I'm doing something wrong and it's probably simple. Any ideas?

click the green button at the top right, above the list of backups. then they will be parsed and it will let you select one

Yes, have done that multiple times, but it only restores information from 2 years back although it's labeled 2023. I also don't see any of my recordings and it is not showing the disk space from the larger partition. The whole installation just doesn't see my old information.

Does Support > Log show any errors?

The only errors are 'missing file' because the backup is referencing recordings that no longer exist. It works great, it's just not seeing any of my current info, nor is it referencing the larger partition that information is on. It's so weird.

Is the DVR storage set correctly to the new path? Or is it still looking at the old path? The directory is set on the main settings page and can be changed by unchecking the checkbox for DVR

I have plugged it in here:

Here is the Linux directory

Looks right. Where are you looking that it appears to be data from years ago?

In the database backup picker do all the options have the same number of recordings and shows listed?

Any one I restore only has information from 2 years back although under the Linux directory the timestamp corresponds with today.

All of the correct media is under the directories but somehow the backup doesn't reference them.

I'm getting this during the restore process but it seems to pull the old information anyway:

Update to prerelease to fix that error.

It sounds like there's only old data in the backup .db files for some reason. Or they're not restoring correctly. One thing you can try is to make a new Database folder with just one backup in it and restore that.

The DVR will only recognize files that are listed in its database. If that's incorrect then you'd have to reimport the newer recording mpg files by moving them into the Imports folder

I'll give that a shot. Any idea why Channels doesn't see the partition that it restores the data on? It obviously has access b/c I'm able to restore, but it defaults to my boot drive which is 256gb. The partition that the data is on is 2tb.

If you have other backups you made yourself of homedir from before, you could try finding the original recorder.db (would have been in ~/channels-dvr/data) to see if that behaves any differently.

For disk info that comes from querying the OS for the DVR data dir, somehow that's not mapping to the right drive you're saying?

We'd have to look at diagnostics (support > troubleshooting > submit) to see what the /system/disk endpoint is reporting

I still have the original baremetal installation working so I have since switched backed to it (working perfectly).

I have a bunch of stuff recording tonight so I'll try again tomorrow.

I have created additional backups when I try this again. Great ideas here, you've been a great help!
