Can't return to guide on new Chromecast w/ Google TV

When I start a show (live from guide or DVR), the back button on the remote doesn't do anything. The only way to get out of the video I'm watching is to fast forward to the end of the recording or press the home button and reopen the Channels app.

Works great otherwise. SO much cheaper than buying another Apple TV or an Nvidia Shield. Only problem is the very minimal remote (which may be part of the problem).

Are you using a button mapper at all?
Also, which versions, dvr stable + app stable, beta, prerelease, etc?

Sorry!
No mapper or any other system tinkering yet.
Android 10 - 4.9.180 - Current version
Channels DVR 3.1.1 from Play store
DVR 2021.02.04.1931 on Synology

Ok, stock chromecast, no mapper to possibly jank things up, stable dvr, play store app. Mind going into your settings menu and choosing the 'install channels dvr beta' and seeing if it happens with the beta?

Have you enabled PIP? It's broken on the Chromecast: it doesn't support PIP, but if it's enabled, the only way to exit out of live is to press Home.

Beta works perfectly. Thanks!
FYI for anyone in the same boat:
It appears you have to enable developer mode to get the beta to install.
Go to settings (under your account icon) > system > about > click on Google tv os build 7 times

This setting doesn't show on the chromecast, guess the app knows it doesn't support pip.

This was just a hunch, I remember in the past there was some updates to the chromecast and I think maybe the remote firmware?, or something, and the stable is before those updates. Like I said, it was just a gut feeling. Might as well run the dvr prerelease now to get the full features of the beta.
