I have used a Raspberry Pi Channels DVR Server for a couple years. However, I have never figured out a way to add my personal media collection to Channels. I have a single usb hard drive plugged into the Raspberry pi. I have tried copying the video files into a new directory on the hard drive as well as in the /imports/ folder. However, no matter what I do, I get an error, "Local Content directory must be separate from the configured Channels DVR storage directory." Is my mistake trying to copy the files onto the usb same hard drive as my recordings from Channels? Do I need to buy a second usb hard drive? Any help would be appreciated.
Copying into Imports is all that is required. What directory and filename extension did you use?
It's working now. I'm using .mkv files in /imports/movies/. Thank you very much for your help!
