Capture a video clip from a recording

I watched show and there is a short video clip that I want to capture and save, I cannot find anything that documents that process, probably not searching for the right stuff. Has anyone done this?

Is this a question related to Channels DVR?

The files are created by Channels DVR, so to some degree, yes. If you know of a better category, please let me know.

Probably better in the "Playground" category but no harm done.

There are different applications that can be used to edit/cut/trim parts of an existing video.

One recommendation: Avidemux

Lossless cut is another recommendation around here

mvktoolnix GUI. u can split by time codes. that what i use.

Also, VLC has a record function, you can playback any vid, and click record and it record in real time, click again and it stops.

What platform/OS? Given the timecodes, Ffmpeg is simple. On a Mac, Lossless Cut, or possibly QuickTime. On Linux (or maybe Windows), Kdenlive or ShotCut.

There are tons of open and free video editors.
