Category filters case sensitive?

Hi

Are category filters case sensitive? As example, the built in Channel Collections for Sports doesn't seem to grab my providers channels for sports. I suspect it's because sports is case sensitive?

as example XML data:

Panthers at Bruins Panthers at Bruins sports 2024-10-14 17:00:00

All are case sensitive, and all are considered different for Example genre-contains=Sports ... will not show "Sports talk" etc ....

I wanted to create a pass that contained Drama and thought it would Record "Crime drama" but it didn't.

This is what I wound up with ...

Channel CONTAINS 2.1 
Channel CONTAINS 6.1 
Channel CONTAINS 8.1 
Channel CONTAINS 32.1 
Channel CONTAINS 12.1 
Genres CONTAINS Comedy drama 
Genres CONTAINS Crime drama

Interesting, I didn’t realize you could have multiple variables of the same type like that in a Pass, acting as “OR” operators. I’ll have to play around some more with that.

You can add multiple Genres to Channel Collections using the Automatic Channels section

Got it. Doesn’t look like it’ll let me add “sports” (all lower case) and “Sports”

I have somewhat of a unique set up as I pull most of my channel data from gracenotes built-in And some channels from threadfin. Threadfin won’t uppercase the S. So basically, it leads me to Missing some sports unless I view all channels.

Hey developers anyway to get around this case sensitive problem?

Yah, unfortunately Sports is a Category, not a Genre.
The guide data would have to include the category Sports.
<category>Sports</category>

Do you have an example of the raw xml for a game?

You're right. That's not going to work.
All Categories and Genres need to have their first letter capitalized.

Bummer. Hopefully devs can make a workaround.

Short term “fix” I found is create a channel collection with sports (all lower case) then made a sports2 with the uppercase S. Kinda lame but it’ll work for now.
