I would like to please know: does cc4c require a chrome tab to be open and playing that particular channel at all times in order for that channel to be piped in and to be able to view that channel? Thanks in advance!
The Chrome tab must be open when the channel is playing, but doesn’t need to be open when not playing if that answers your question. And I think, at least on the Mac, it doesn’t have to be the foremost tab, as I’ve had it play in another space than the one I’m in.
Yes thank you and one other thing would I be able to change the channel playing from my channelsdvr app? Or would I have to go into that chrome tab? Thanks in advance!
You change channels from the app. As a broad overview, you set up all the channels in CC4C, add them into a collection or collections, and they appear as regular channels in the app. My issue with CC4C is I lately haven’t been able to get YouTube TV to play in its own full screen mode. I can have the tab go full screen, but it isn’t quite true full screen. YouTube TV has a little square box to click to maximize, or you type the f key to maximize. I haven’t been able to get that to work through various automation tools.
but does each channel that you change to have to be open in a separate tab?
If you exit out of a channel in the client, and select a new channel, I believe it uses the same tab. But if you have more than one channel playing at a time (such as you watching on one device, and somebody else watching on another), they will load in separate tabs.
