I would love to see Channels be the central interface for Live TV on Apple TV outside of using a HDHomeRun, so rather than just being tied to an HDHomeRun use, couldn’t Channels develop a way to scan the Apple TV for Live TV apps and become the menu/interface for Live TV??
No, Apple will never allow it. Apple has their own “tv” app that tries to be a “central interface” but I never use it.

Just putting some hope out into this universe because Apple’s TV App is pointless and useless. I’ve never seen a more useless interface
Live Channels on Android TV is the closest you’ll ever get, and that completely depends on app supporting it. I doubt you’ll ever see all the the apps you want inside it either because most of the bigger names want to keep you inside there app rather than give you the choice of having all your content in one place.
