Ceton Network Tuners?

Have you considered providing support for the Ceton Network Tuners? I know Ceton seems to have disappeared in the last year and you can’t buy new tuners…their website is still active and the tuners are pretty cheap on ebay/craigslist/etc.

It would be really nice to run 6 tuners on one cablecard/device if its simple enough for you to do…also if DRM suport is added.

This is something we can look into, but it all depends on what kind of APIs and developer documentation is available for the device.

Do you know of any other third party software that supports the Ceton hardware?

As far as I know they only intended it to be used only with WMC.

The developers used to be really active on the forums at thegreenbutton.tv. I think their tags were ekotz and motz. However, I don’t think either work for Ceton anymore, but motz will post responses every so often.

I was one of the first InfiniTV 4 purchasers and used it up until Channels came onto the scene. I invested very cheaply in an HDHomeRun PRIME and I recommend you do as well.

Ceton provides absolutely no APIs. Working with the low-level specs drawn up by CableLabs is the only option. At this point, it’s not worth it.

Ceton is as good as dead.

I have several different Ceton tuners (purchased and given during betas) and a few of the extenders. All of which are out of commission since I started using Primes, and killed WMC in the house.

In reality I just want a 6 tuner unit that only needs 1 cablecard and 1 TA, and Ceton is the only company that has ever offered it. Sort of a shame they’ve died…

Without a public or supported API or even any hope that the company will continue, Ceton tuners won’t be supported in the near feature. Thanks!
