How would I change the channel collection from the guide when "Guide Channel Collections" is off? With the collections permanently visible they take up a lot of screen space from the guide (as do the channel numbers which I wish I could also switch off!) In the ipad app the simple drop down allows changing the collection which is not always on screen (a good thing).
I see there is an option for 'collections' in the side bar but this is not for channel collections.
It's not exactly convenient to have to go to settings to enable showing of channel collections, change the collection and then have to go back into settings to hide the option again.
Perhaps I'm just missing some obvious way to do this!
You can add collections to the side bar by going to you dvr web ui and adding a collection inside personal section within the library tab. Once created you go to the client tab either global or specific client and link the collection under the sidebar navigation section.
The result will be collections in the sidebar but they will not be in grid guide form, they will be in thumbnail form. I requested the option to choose the form when they released personal sections but the developers said they were not going to add the grid style.

This isn't a good solution for me, it is not possible to configure a channel guide in the same format as the main tv epg. The entire reason for wanting to hide the 'channel collection' list is to gain more area for the guide itself, I have no interest in viewing a large thumbnail list of what's currently on each channel.
It would be nice to be able to toggle viewing of channel collections as well as the channel numbers (although I see hiding channel numbers has been requested many times over the years with no response from the developers), it seems unlikely these kind of UI requests receive any feedback.
It seems I am left having navigate the settings/options each time I want to change channel collection and then hide them again.
Adding the ability to add channel collections to the sidebar would be a good solution, easily accessible and mostly auto hides when viewing the guide. Perhaps also being able to assign an icon to a channel collection.
