If I install the channels server software onto a different computer how do I keep my recordings and metadata intact? Thanks!
You can migrate your content pretty easily.
First, find where your DVR is currently storing recordings. Open the DVR web UI in a browser and look for the DVR checkbox:
In this case, the DVR is storing all recordings and metadata into /Volumes/ExternalUSB/DVR.
To switch to a new Hard Drive:
- Move the entire DVR folder to the new computer
- Uncheck the DVR checkbox
- Install Channels DVR Server on your new device
- When it starts up, there's an option at the bottom of the screen to import your old data.
