Channel app continues playing audio thru homepods when AppleTV 4k is in standby

Hi new here, having a specific issue here on apple tv 4k box, I have a pair of apple homepods connected and if I turn the apple tv box off into standby the channels app will continue playing audio through the speakers even when in standby after I turned the box off, the only way to fix it is to turn the box back on and exit the channels app before turning the apple tv back off, don’t get this issue with any other app so definitely a bug you have there in the app.

It’s getting annoying so would be great if you can fix it, thanks.

I've had the same thing happen, also with AppleTV and paired stereo home pods. I typically just try to remember to exit to the AppleTV home screen before turning everything off.

Ok so it’s a known issue then, maybe the developer can release a fix for this in next update.

I never usually exit all apps when putting apple TV in standby so gets kind of annoying.

apple tv and homepods have been an issue for years and years. this problem, problem with pip, problem with audio thats not stereo.

they cant figure it out. right now its workable but you'll encounter weird quirks with it and they have no answer for it.

just do a search and you'll see issues with it for years now.
