I use the channel categories daily on tvOS, but it’s much more difficult to switch between categories with the current android UI. Not sure of a good alternative way of displaying these, I like the way they are accessed in Live Channels but that UI is completely different.
We could add a hot key to bring up the filter menu for easy access with FLIRC + remote
Just a thought... The UI Plex uses is pretty standard material design but has a different structure to it that would work well for channels and be more in line with the tvOS experience.
Instead of libraries on the home page you could have On Now, Guide, Recordings, and DVR. That way once you go into the guide you could have the categories in the left hand navigation menu.
